What is chickenpox

Chickenpox is a contagious viral infection that is prevalent and typically affects children, although anybody can contract it. After 1 to 2 weeks, it normally improves on its own without the need for medical attention.

After infection, nearly all children gain immunity to chickenpox, thus most only contract it once. Adults may be more severely affected.

What are the main signs and symptoms of Chickenpox?

The major symptom of chickenpox is an itchy, spotty rash. It can appear on any part of the body.<.p>

Chickenpox occurs in three stages. However, new spots may appear as others are creating blisters or scabs.

Before or after the rash develops, you may also experience:

  • a fever, aches and pains, and general feeling poorly, along with loss of appetite.
  • Even in the absence of many lesions, chickenpox is extremely irritating and can make youngsters uncomfortable.
