Why get a flu jab?

Flu is a contagious viral disease that can spread by coughing, sneezing or touching contaminated surfaces or people. Stay healthy and protect your friends, family and work colleagues by getting vaccinated. Last year community pharmacies administered millions of flu jabs in the UK. The flu jab is the best form of protection that we have against the flu virus.

Free nhs flu jab service

Flu can be serious in some patient groups as it can lead to further complications. The NHS free flu jab service provides free flu vaccination to these specific patient groups. The clinics may be able to offer you free NHS flu vaccinations if you fall under one or more of the following patient groups:

• under 50 years in clinical risk groups
• pregnant women
• those aged 50 years and over
• those in long-stay residential care homes
• carers
• close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
• frontline health and social care staff employed by

Private Flu vaccination Service

If you don't qualify for the free NHS flu jab service, the clinics also offer a private flu jab service. There is a charge for this service. You will have a short consultation with one of our pharmacists before you will be given the flu jab.
